Effective 25 October 2026
Nietzschat is an AI-powered conversational service that grounds its responses in Friedrich Nietzsche's published writings. By accessing or using Nietzschat you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Nietzschat provides AI-generated responses informed by Nietzsche's texts via retrieval-augmented generation. Responses are produced by a large language model and include citations to source passages. They do not constitute scholarly, philosophical, psychological, legal, medical, financial, or professional advice.
You may use Nietzschat only if you are legally able to enter into these Terms. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly at contact@nietzschat.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
Nietzschat offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed monthly, or annually where the Plans page offers an annual option, at the prices shown on the Plans page at the time of purchase. An annual plan includes the same features as the monthly plan of the same name.
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy LLC), our authorised payment provider, acting as reseller and Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record for your subscription and handles all payment processing, tax collection, invoicing, and applicable refunds. Its own terms and privacy policy apply to the checkout and to the customer portal.
Paid plans are charged at the start of each billing period and renew automatically for the same period until cancelled. You may cancel at any time, and access continues until the end of the current paid period.
Cancelling. To cancel, open Account → Billing and choose Manage subscription. That opens the Lemon Squeezy customer portal, where you can cancel, change your payment method, and view your invoices. Cancelling there stops all future charges; no cancellation fee applies. Lemon Squeezy's Buyer Terms advise cancelling at least 48 hours before your renewal date, so that the cancellation is processed before the next payment is taken. If you are charged after cancelling, contact us at contact@nietzschat.com.
Resuming. Until the paid period ends, you can undo a cancellation in Nietzschat: open Account → Billing and choose Resume subscription. Billing then continues on the original schedule, and nothing is charged when you resume.
Changing plans. Moving to a higher plan, or from monthly to annual billing, takes effect immediately and is charged the prorated difference for the current period. Moving from monthly Philosopher to monthly Scholar takes effect immediately, and the unused part of the month is credited against your next invoice. Moving from annual Philosopher to annual Scholar takes effect at your next renewal: Philosopher continues until then, and the renewal is charged at the Scholar price.
From annual to monthly billing. An annual plan cannot be switched to monthly billing during the paid year. Cancel it under Manage subscription; it stays active until the end of the paid year, and you can then subscribe to a monthly plan from the Plans page.
Subscriptions paid with PayPal. Our payment provider does not support plan changes or resuming for subscriptions paid with PayPal. To change plan, cancel under Manage subscription and subscribe to the new plan once your paid period has ended, or email contact@nietzschat.com and we will help.
Refunds, including the 14-day refund on new purchases, are set out in our Refund Policy.
Nietzschat Editions are sold individually and, where offered, together as the Complete Collection. Each is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
An individual edition is one title, as a PDF and an EPUB file. The Complete Collection, where offered, is the 14 Nietzschat Editions listed on its page at the time of purchase, each as a PDF and an EPUB file, together with a ZIP file containing all of them. It does not include titles published later.
The files are licensed to you for your personal use; please do not redistribute them. After purchase you can download them from your receipt and from your Lemon Squeezy order history for as long as Lemon Squeezy provides it; we recommend keeping your own copy, as we cannot guarantee that a third-party download service will remain available. Member prices replace, and do not combine with, any other discount.
You may not use Nietzschat unlawfully, interfere with or bypass the service or its usage limits, automate or scrape access at scale, resell access, or misuse another person's account.
The Nietzschat name, design, and software belong to Nietzschat. Nietzsche's texts are in the public domain. Your prompts and conversations remain yours. You give Nietzschat permission to store and process them only as needed to provide the service.
Responses are generated by AI and may contain errors, omissions, or anachronistic interpretations. They do not represent Nietzsche's definitive views, and Nietzschat makes no warranty as to their accuracy or completeness.
To the extent permitted by law, Nietzschat is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid for Nietzschat during the previous 12 months. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription through Manage subscription (see section 3) and contacting us to request account deletion.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice through the service or by email before it takes effect.
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under mandatory consumer law.
