Effective 13 October 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Nietzschat collects, uses, and protects your personal information. By using the service you agree to the practices described here.
Account information — your email address, collected when you sign up.
Usage data — messages you send, conversations you save, and sources you add to your Library.
Voice data — if you dictate a question, the audio recording is sent to our speech provider for transcription and is not stored by us (see Section 3). Using the microphone is always your choice.
Billing information — subscription plan status, and the customer and subscription identifiers our payment provider issues for your account. We never see or store your payment card details; those are handled entirely by our payment provider (see Section 3).
Technical data — your IP address and basic request information, used only to operate the service, apply usage limits and prevent abuse.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not use your conversation content to train AI models.
Nietzschat relies on the following third-party processors. Each processes your data only as necessary to provide their service.
We use browser local storage for interface preferences (for example your theme and German glossary settings) and Supabase Auth cookies to keep you signed in.
We also set one strictly necessary first-party cookie, nz_guest. It holds a random, signed identifier — no name, email or IP address — and exists solely to count the free daily question allowance for visitors who are not signed in. Without it that allowance could not be enforced. It is HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, so it cannot be read by page scripts and is not sent on cross-site requests, which means it cannot be used to track you on other websites.
We do not use third-party tracking, analytics or advertising cookies.
Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your Nietzschat account and associated personal data by emailing contact@nietzschat.com. Once your account is deleted, your personal data is removed within 30 days, except that certain transaction and accounting records (such as records of purchases) may be retained where necessary, including where required by law.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, port, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, email us at contact@nietzschat.com.
We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit and access-controlled database hosting. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Nietzschat is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice in the service before they take effect.
